NDIS CONTACT DETAILS
What is NDIS?
NDIS stands for the National Disability Insurance Scheme. It has been set up by the Australian government to help people with disabilities get the support they need. NDIS provides funding for things like therapy, equipment, and support services to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. It's designed to give people more control and choice in how they receive their support, so they can live more independently, participate in their communities and achieve their goals
Am I eligible?
To qualify for the NDIS, you need to meet these criteria: • Be under 65 years old when you first apply. • Be an Australian citizen, Permanent Visa holder, or Protected Special Category Visa holder. • Have a permanent and significant disability that requires assistance from another person, the use of special equipment, or support to reduce future needs.
Reassessing your plan
If your NDIS plan needs reassessment or your situation changes, a Support Coordinator or LAC can help by ensuring your new needs are well-documented and understood by the NDIS. They will guide you through the process, advocate for necessary adjustments, and ensure your plan aligns with your updated requirements.
Using your plan
To access support and learn how to use your NDIS plan, talk to your NDIS planner, LAC or Support Coordinator for guidance on connecting with service providers and making the most of your plan. Stay proactive by asking questions, seeking advice, and exploring available resources to get the support you need.
